The paper proposes a method for determining the most probable sliding surfaces and coefficients of stability margin of heterogeneous soil slopes. Based on numerical calculations, diagrams of the shear and holding forces acting along the assumed sliding surface are constructed. The results obtained make it possible to more fully assess the nature of the distribution of these forces and use them to analyze the stability of soil slopes with a heterogeneous structure.
