This article analyzes the role of HTTP security headers as the first line of defense in web applications and examines the practical challenges of their implementation. The principal security headers — Content-Security-Policy, Strict-Transport-Security, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, and Referrer-Policy — are discussed in relation to deployment challenges and the security risks arising from misconfiguration. The findings provide insight into the current state of security header deployment and identify the most prevalent misconfiguration patterns observed in practice.
