This article analyzes the didactic advantages of switching from
the traditional AutoCAD program to the Revit program based on BIM
technologies in teaching engineering graphics. During the study, the capabilities
of AutoCAD and Revit programs in the educational process were comparatively
studied and the importance of BIM technologies in developing spatial thinking,
design-practical competencies and digital skills in students was substantiated.
Also, a methodology for the gradual transition of engineering graphics from a 2D
graphic environment to a 3D information modeling environment was developed.
The results of the study showed that an integrated teaching model based on
Revit increases the effectiveness of education.
