This article analyzes human happiness and the factors that ensure it, in
particular, the role of the natural and social environment in human life, from a scientific,
theoretical and practical point of view. The study extensively covers the interaction of natural
factors (water, soil, air) and social factors (family, community, ideological environment,
education and politics). At the same time, the close relationship between environmental
sustainability and economic development and corporate responsibility is analyzed based on
examples. The article shows effective mechanisms for implementing environmental and social
responsibility through the experience of corporate culture in developed countries, in particular,
Sweden, Germany, and Japan. The concept of “social responsibility of business” is highlighted
through the scientific ideas of such representatives of economic thought as Milton Friedman,
Howard Bowen, and Joseph Stiglitz. The study analyzes the experience of Uzbekistan as a new
stage of environmental responsibility, using the example of the problem of industrial and
household waste.
