This article examines the main problems of ensuring the
sustainability of public finance in the conditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The study analyzes budget deficit (around 2-3% of GDP in recent years), the
growth of the public debt burden, the low financial independence of state-owned
enterprises and local budgets, shortcomings in tax administration, as well as the
risks of the shadow economy and corruption. As ways to overcome these
problems, the article proposes strengthening fiscal rules, expanding the tax base
and reducing the shadow economy, digitalizing public financial control,
increasing the autonomy of local budgets, and introducing “green” financing
mechanisms. The results show that comprehensive reforms will enhance the
resilience of public finance and contribute to sustainable economic growth and
social development.
