The article presents a comparative analysis of palm-based identity recognition
approaches. This method of biometric identification is characterized by line-based, texture-based,
geometry-based, statistical methods, deep learning, and hybrid approaches. The methods,
databases, and results obtained for each approach are presented. According to the analysis results,
it was found that deep learning and hybrid approaches showed high accuracy. The effectiveness
of the systems was assessed by the equivalent error rate (EER) and accuracy indicators.
